SUB - REGIONS
The Near East and North Africa
Region is divided into the five following sub-regions:

AARINENA is co-sponsored by: the
Food and Agriculture Organization of the
United Nations (FAO), the International Centre for Agricultural Research in the
Dry Areas (ICARDA) and the International Service for National Agricultural
Research (ISNAR).
As of May 1998, AARINENA has 22
member Institutions belonging to the following countries: Cyprus, Egypt, Iran,
Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine,
the Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Four international
and regional organizations - the Arab Centre for the Study of Arid zones and Dry
lands (ACSAD), the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), the
FAO Regional Near East Office (FAO/RNE) and the International Centre for
Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) - have also joined the
Association.
In addition to its full member
institutions, AARINENA also welcome associate members from national, regional
and international organizations.
