Consumer Price Index for the Month of March, 2001

The Consumer Price Index for March 2001 increased by 1,00 unit or 0,95% to 106,73 units compared to 105,73 in February 2001. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of clothing and footwear items following the end of the winter sales. A decrease was recorded in the price of electricity.

2. The rate of increase of the Index for March 2001 compared to March 2000 was 1,44% while for the period of January-March 2001 the CPI recorded an increase of 1,75% compared to the corresponding period of 2000.
