Consumer Price Index for the Month of May, 2001

The Consumer Price Index for May 2001 increased by 0,37 units or 0,34% to 107,86 units compared to 107,49 in April 2001. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain fresh fruit, pork, medical care and certain clothing and footwear items. A decrease has been recorded in the prices of fresh vegetables and electricity.

2. The rate of increase of the Index for May 2001 compared to May 2000 was 1,70% while for the period of January-May 2001 the CPI recorded an increase of 1,73% compared to the corresponding period of 2000.
