Every two years, more than 1000 executives from all over the world, gather in Cyprus to discuss shipping issues that are of interest or cause concern to everyone involved in this dynamic industry.

Ship owners, ship brokers, managers, lawyers, accountants, underwriters, insurers, financiers and many more, find the Maritime Cyprus Conference an event where information is acquired about the latest issues and trends of the international shipping industry.

The Maritime Cyprus Conference has been established as a biennial international shipping event. The fifth Maritime Cyprus Conference is scheduled to take place between 6 and 9 October, 1997.

The theme of the Maritime Cyprus 1997 Conference is "A New Era in Shipping". Eminent personalities of the international shipping community will participate as speakers. Among them, the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organisation, Mr. William O'Neil, the Chairman of the Baltic Exchange, Mr. Eric Shawyer, the Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping/International Shipping Federation Mr. Chris Horrocks and the Secretary General of the International Transport Workers Federation, Mr. David Cockroft, have confirmed their participation.

On the last day of the Conference, 9 October 1997, a Workshop will be held where the ISM Code and the 1995 amendments to the STCW Convention will be thoroughly debated.

Participation fee for the Conference: CY£170 or (US$370)
Participation fee for the Workshop: CY£ 60 or (US$130)
