The photo archive that follows constitutes a small list of towns and villages of Cyprus that are now under ILLEGAL Turkish MILITARY OCCUPATION. Turkish military and occupation authorities, in their methodic, state sponsored, organized, and engineered effort to change the demographic composition of occupied areas of Cyprus, they have changed the original names of numerous villages/ towns of Cyprus, illegally transferred 160,000 Turkish settlers from mainland Turkey in the occupied areas of Cyprus, and they have virtually shrank and destroyed the Turkish Cypriot community, that is a minority in the occupied areas of Cyprus. Moreover, Turkish state terrorism, is also responsible for continuously and systematically destroying the entire Greek cultural heritage of the occupied areas of Cyprus since 1974. This destruction includes Christian Greek Orthodox Churches, Christian Greek Orthodox monasteries, Ancient Byzantine Greek Castles, Ancient Greek monuments, Statues of Greek Heroes, and even Greek Orthodox cemeteries.

Bogazi village in Famagusta district. Bogazi village was one of the Navy bases of the Cyprus National Guard Navy, mainly for the repair and maintenance of the torpedo boats of the Cyprus National Guard. With the beginning of the invasion and the sinking of ALL torpedo boats sent to face the Turkish armada from the harbor of Kyrenia, the 2 remaining torpedo boats that were stationed at Bogazi were ordered to disperse to avoid destruction.

The Famagusta beach. Famagusta was the most developed town of Cyprus, up until 1974. It was the biggest Tourist attraction, had a very developed harbor, and also the center of almost all intellectual activity of Cyprus. Its clean beaches and the developed tourist industry made it one of the most attractive tourist attractions with many promises. During the second phase of the Turkish invasion, Famagusta was evacuated because the infantry regiments that were supposed to defend it, were transferred to Nicosia, to defend the Nicosia International Airport. The town was left totally unprotected and was evacuated shortly after the Turkish troops entered in it. Today it is a ghost town, since the Turkish army never entered in it. It is under the control of the United Nations Force In Cyprus UNIFCYP.

The occupied village of Kalogrea in Kyrenia district. The village was built after a prosecuted by the Turks "Kalogrea" (woman monk) found refuge inside a cave at the location of the village. Near Kalogrea village is located the famous Christian Greek Orthodox monastery of Antiphonitis (Antifonitis). The monastery of Antifonitis was one of the most beautifully decorated monasteries, with ancient Byzantine frescoes. It was too destroyed and looted by barbarian Turks. Occupied Karmi village is located in Kyrenia district Cyprus, on Mount Pentadactylos and before the 1974 Turkish invasion it was inhabited solely by Greek Cypriots. Karmi village has been ILLEGALLY SOLD by the Turkish occupation regime to foreign citizens, mainly Britons and Germans, shortly after the 1974 Turkish invasion.

We want to make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR to the British and Germans that have acquired properties in Karmi that their "title" is not valid because they have acquired STOLEN property belonging to Greek Cypriots. Inter alias, they interfere with Article 1 of Protocol 1 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms concerning the rightful ownership, access, and enjoyment of property. Greek Cypriots are determined to exhaust all lawful means to get their properties back, following the landmark legal precedence of Loizidou v. Turkey (ECHR).

Turks have also illegally founded an American University and research center in Karmi, in order to legitimize the ILLEGAL 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. For more information about Karmi Click HERE.

The graphic Kyrenia harbor in Kyrenia. It is claimed to be the most beautiful place in the entire Hellenism. Its unique combination of Mount Pentadactylos, the Kyrenia sea, and the ancient Greek Byzantine Castle, make Kyrenia one of the most harmonic and calm places. Kyrenia is a Greek town, founded by Lakons (Ancient Greek Spartans), and more specifically it was built by Praxandros. The ancient castle of Kyrenia is also Greek Byzantine, as well as the Greek ancient cargo ship of Kyrenia, discovered accidentally by Greek-Cypriot diver Andreas Kariolou. Greek town of Kyrenia is under Turkish military occupation since 1974. For more photos about Kyrenia, click HERE.

Lysi village in Mesaoria, Famagusta district, CYPRUS. Birth town of the legendary Gregoris Pieris Afxentiou, Anti-lieutenant of the Greek army, and second in command of the Cypriot Liberation Organisation E.O.K.A. that was fighting the British colonial power between 1955-1959, and helped to achieve independence in 1960. In 1955 the British offered 5,000 English pounds for his capture. Afxentiou died heroically on the 3rd of March 1957, inside his hide-out near Macheras Greek Orthodox monastery on Macheras mountains, fighting against the British colonial Rule of Cyprus. He fought for more than 8 hours, single handed, against a regiment of British paratroopers that surrounded him after he was betrayed. The British, being unable to capture, or subdue him, and in view of mounting losses that they suffered, they threw petrol/gas inside the cave and burned him alive, only succeeding to prove once more that: "...from now on we will not say that Greeks fight like Heroes, but that Heroes fight like the Greeks..."!!!(BBC broadcast during WWII)
