Consumer Price Index for the Month of April, 2000

The Consumer Price Index for April 2000 increased by 0,43 units or 0,41% to 105,65 units compared to 105,22 in March 2000. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain fresh fruit, electricity and air fares. Decrease was recorded in the prices of certain fresh vegetables.

2. The average rate of increase of the Index for the last twelve months (i.e. May 1999 - April 2000) compared to the preceding twelve months (i.e. May 1998 - April 1999) was 2,61%.
