some good Kypros Net programmes
by Guest User - Saturday, 18 February 2006, 03:00 PM
  Hi,

You will find some interesting History documentaries if you follow this:
Kypros-Net/AudioVisual/Cultural

A good course on the ancient history of Cypros in Greek.

Did anyone get a transcript of this series? That would make it much easier to follow.

There is also some good modern Greek music on the live radio site. Best time to listen is between midnight and 5 in the morning Cyprus time. Some music is great, some not so good.

Enjoy

Could you please provide the URL of the Kypros-Net/AudioVisual/Cultural page which has the historical documentaries, especially the ancient history of Cyprus in Greek? The way you show it, this reference is not easy to find.

Thank you,
Greg Brush

  Hi Greg,

On the main page, under course info, you will see a link for KYPROS-Net, click it.
Now look at the main categories on the left. Click on REAL AUDIO/VIDEO.
Scroll down to CULTURAL PROGRAMES. Click on HISTORY of CYPRUS on KYPROS-NET.
A good place to start is Part 9, Alexander the Great (Megas Alexandros).

Good Luck

And I hope someone can let us know if there are transcripts of this series.

Thanks for the further info. I hadn't noticed the listing, "History of Cyprus on Kypros-Net" (New) in the Cultural Programs section as being the one you were referring to when I first went there.

For the benefit of others, this page with its listing of CyBC videos on the History of Ancient Cyprus (13 parts) and of Byzantine Cyprus (10 parts) is directly accessible as:
