Mac keyboard issues
by Trina Gillies - Tuesday, 15 April 2008, 01:09 PM
I am new to this site but finding it really helpful and enjoyable to use. I tried to get the Greek characters on the keyboard through Word for Mac, and although I thought I'd changed things in System Preferences, still couldn't get the keyboard to produce Greek characters. Any advice please?

  Hello Trina,

I had this problem and a kind person helped me. On your mac in the right corner, you will find the time, the volume and then a flag, click on the flag and it will open the window. Click open international. Check keyboard viewer, this will show the greek keyboard later on when you need to find where the greek characters are on the keyboard, useful thing. So click open international and stroll down the different languages until you find Greek check it but also check Greek Polytonic, this should give you full access the greek fonts and be able to write on any site and forum. If the plain greek does not work on a site , try greek polytonic and it should work just fine. It took me more than a year to find this out so do enjoy and make full use of the information.
When you need to see the keyboard configuration, click on the flag again and stroll down to "show keyboard viewer" and you have the a window showing you the greek characters on your keyboard.
