Adjective qualifies a noun or pronoun. An adjective often, but not always, comes before the noun or the pronoun which it modifies. For example: 1. The sweet baby was sleeping. 2. The baby was sweet. The word "sweet" is describing and modifies the noun baby.
An adverb is a word that describes a verb.
