Occasionally i see OTI written like this O,TI with comma after O. Why is this? Is it a typo? Can anyone explain? Many thanks |

No, it's not a typo -- these are two different words. ότι (ΟΤΙ) is a conjunction and means "that"; ό,τι (Ο,ΤΙ) is a pronoun which means "whatever". Several decades ago when Greek was still written in polytonic style, these two words were differentiated by a space: 'ότι vs. 'ό τι. Now in the monotonic era, they're differentiated solely by a comma: ότι vs. ό,τι. Regards, Greg Brush |
