HAU podcast questions
by Szabolcs Horvát - Saturday, 14 November 2009, 04:57 PM
  Hi,

I tried to translate the 1st HAU podcast, and I ran into a few difficulties.

I had trouble understanding the following:
Ξενοφών: Κουράζεται το παιδί πήγαινε-έλα!

I am unsure about this one:
Αυτό το μετρό, έχει σώσει πολύ κόσμο..!

("This metro has saved lots of people"?? And why is there a comma?)

Does "Γεια χαρά!" simply mean "hello"?

What is the function of the word για in sentences like "Για ακούστε άλλη μία φορά" ?

How can "Σας περιμένω και πάλι" be translated correctly? "I'll wait for you again"? "I'll be waiting for you next time?"

Oh, and one more: "... και λένε όλα τους τα νέα". Is this "talk about what's new"?

After correcting these, I'll post the full translation.

EDIT: Never try to paste from Word to this forum's edit box...

And yet another question ... "Δεν αργείς και στη δουλειά..!" While I understand all the words separately, I can't interpret the sentence in a way fits the context.
