Script?
by Guest User - Wednesday, 17 March 2010, 04:25 PM
I am trying to teach myself how to write. I got Communicate

in Greek
by Kleanthes Arvanitakes, which teaches you how to

make the individual letters how most people write them,

but it does not show you how to write out full words. Do you

connect the letters in a script? If so, is there anyplace that

shows how to do this? I've been guessing so far, but I don't want

to get a habit for doing something wrong.

Thanks again!

You don't need to connect them, just write them one by one, as shown in your book. Connected styles exist, but the Greek people I know write the letters separately.

Look here for a number of handwritten samples, including some connected ones (keep clicking 'next' to see all the pages):

The first four I can read fine, the rest is increasingly difficult to impossible to figure out for me (a beginning learner).

Also note that these samples use the old, polytonic orthography.
