by Guest User - Thursday, 18 March 2004, 12:12 AM
I don't know any greek, so it would be great if someone could tell me how to say I miss you in Greek and tell me how to pronounce it.

If you can't use the greek alphabet in your keyboard, you can write this : Mou lipis, agapi mou (that's to say: I miss you, my love...). Is this what you want to say him??? If not, write in english what you want to say and I'll try to translate it using latin charatcters...
Bye.

ΜΟΥ ΛΕΙΠΕΙΣ is perfect. As for terms of endearment well chose from

ΜΑΤΑΚΙΑ ΜΟΥ - ΜΑΤΙΑ ΜΟΥ
ΚΑΡΔΟΥΛΑ ΜΟΥ - ΚΑΡΔΙΑ ΜΟΥ
ΨΥΧΟΥΛΑ ΜΟΥ - ΨΥΧΗ ΜΟΥ
ΜΩΡΑΚΙ ΜΟΥ - ΜΩΡΟ ΜΟΥ
ΑΓΑΠΗ ΜΟΥ
ΛΑΤΡΕΙΑ ΜΟΥ
ΓΛΥΚΕΙΕ ΜΟΥ

verbatim translation

my (little) eyes
my (little) heart
my (little) soul
my (little) baby
My love
My adored one
My sweet

All of the above are acceptable no matter how weird they sound (by the way, the first ones, the "little" translated, do not mean either little nor small; it's just a way of showing affection)

There are also others more .. curious ones like
ΖΟΥΖΟΥΝΙ ΜΟΥ which means, verbatim, my little bug !

  Thank You, Irene! smile
Please, tell me: why there's 2 forms of that terms?
"ΚΑΡΔΟΥΛΑ ΜΟΥ - ΚΑΡΔΙΑ ΜΟΥ
ΨΥΧΟΥΛΑ ΜΟΥ - ΨΥΧΗ ΜΟΥ
ΜΩΡΑΚΙ ΜΟΥ - ΜΩΡΟ ΜΟΥ"
Which is the better? I don't know which form I should use...

Glad I could help Claudia smile

The first terms are the ones translated as "little sth"
i.e. my little heart vs my heart (the 1st pair)

I'd go with the first forms if we are talking about a sort of "cuddly" relationship. Using these (the 1st of the pairs) are more.. cute shall we say? They show a more sweet, tender disposition and/or feeling

If it helps you understand read this:
I am not into the purring, miaowing sort of expressing myself (I don't use these terms in a derogatory way). In fact I am more prone to making jokes than being cute. I usually use the second form when talking to a loved one.

A girlfriend of mine is more into that sort of thing. She uses the first ones more often.

P.S. As to which one to use, I'll leave it up to you. They are all sort of equal bar ΛΑΤΡΕΙΑ as you can see from its translation smile

PPS If there's some sort of nick you have for your loved one you can turn that into a term of endearment too. I.E. Bear = ΑΡΚΟΥΔΑ Turn that into ΑΡΚΟΥΔΑΚΙ ΜΟΥ nd you have your own personal term

ok, i am from Greece, lived here my whole life.

Someone asked how to say my darling- it is:

Koukla mou. my doll/my darling.

we have many phrases and nick names, and we tend to use more slang.

i miss you is mou leipeis. not anything else.

I love you is: S'agapo/S'agapao

if you have any questions i am of service.
