| I have Greek friends who are Christians, and Greek friends who are Jewish, I would like to find a phrase that means "happy holidays" that would be appropriate to use with both. I would like to know how to pronounce it but I would also like to see it in correct Greek letters, preferably uppercase. Can anyone help? Thank you. |

Do you mean for the Christmas - New Years holidays? How about: Καλές γιορτές, ΚΑΛΕΣ ΓΙΟΡΤΕΣ, pronunciation 'kahLESS yorTESS' I received that on a Christmas card, and it seems pretty general. |

| «ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΠΟΛΛΑ» (Χρόνια πολλά) [HRON-ya po-LA] is a general greeting for any annual celebration, like a birthday or a nameday, but it's also heard pretty ubiquitously throughout the month of December. That and καλές γιορτές seem to me to be the most common secular holiday greetings. |
